Hello everyone,
I am using a TJ25, which sadly does not come with the flash player all the TH/UX/NX/NZ Series models have. Does anyone know of a flash player that will work with Palm OS 5, so I can see the .SWF files on my Clie? That would be great, considering that I need the software urgently for my company. Any help would be appreciated heavily! Thanks.

Is there any other software you can get that will allow you to view Flash files? Anything you can buy? Please!!!!! :(

No Amoon, I wasn't able to find a flash player. I tried everywhere, and sent a couple of emails to developers, but got no reply. Your help is, as always, greatly appreciated. All I need right now is a flash player!:(

well i have managed to copy the files from my UX so your welcome to give them a go but i can't promise they'll work or that they won't crash your handheld.

Thanks Amoon for all your help. I downloaded the files, and installed them fine, but when I went to launch the program, it said something about a system error. Are there any other files, or is my Clie just incompatible with MMFlash? Maybe I will have to get a higher model!

did u put them into RAM? There was a third file but i thought it was just a file that was generated when u launch the flash player. I'll put that file up as well and let you know.

It's near-worthless anyway, at least in my experience. Almost every file I try to play brings up a "not enough memory" error. I'm hoping for JackSprat for the TH someday so I can rid myself of this useless bloat.

I downloaded all the files you provided, Amoon, but it still says the same thing. I guess I am stuck then! Is there any hack I can download that would possibly make it work? Otherwise, I will keep looking around!

Hello Vishalca,
A *.SWF Player was something that I recently investigated for my NR70V, but deleted the one from HK Uni's E-Business Technology Institute (mentioned by austinp earlier) within the day.
The Program Download links for their Flash 4 Player, which is dated April 2002 [edit] and has a lot of limitations (160x160, no bitmaps, fonts nor shape morphing, 64KB Palm resource limit):

www.eti.hku.hk/eti/web/p_s_flash_on_plam.html
(fp-palm.zip is 24.4MB and fp-palm-spec.pdf is 0.9MB)

Hope these links help. Easter Greetings.

Thanks MarkF. All those links helped, and I tried out the Hong Kong Technology Institute flash player. The limitations do pose a problem, but I am trying to move around them. Just curious, which flash player are you currently using for your NR70V?

You're welcome. However, having not found a viable Flash Player for my NR70V, I am not using one. I discounted Kinoma as only its Player component is free. [edit]
Macromedia demonstrated a Flash Player for the Palm OS at one or two conferences/seminars in 2002. It was apparently too slow to be usable on the then crop of 33MHz processors. The next Flash Player on the Palm scene targeted the ARM-based Sony CLIÉs, bypassing the 66MHz DragonBall Super VZ (MC68SZ328) in my NR70V and targeting the 200MHz NX70V.

As an after-thought, given that Sony has targeted the TG50, which appears based on the same hardware as your TJ25 excluding the onboard MP3-playback DSP. You may want to explain to Sony your business need for a Flash Player.
