GPS and TH55

Is there a GPS-back-end hardware I can purchase that would work with presumably Palm based PDA's such as TH55??

I am buying a new car that I can add their navigator BS for !2000$, way too much money if I can just buy a GPS for my palm and use that instead...

I emailed today and am waiting on a reply. Am thinking about just downloading the older palm os version and waiting hopefully for the future support. I need it for a trip next week and can't wait.
Is this upgradeable if they do support and i wonder if i'll have to buy the newer version or just upgrade?
