View Full Version : SJ33: Blue & Orange Covers are available
I noticed that SonyStyle now lists the translucent covers in the accessories area for the Clie SJ33. So now you can change your flip lid cover color to change your mood! $14.95/each
Also note that I no longer see the 25% off accessories promotion when you register your Clie. They appear to have replaced it with a 15% off software promotion :(

I was just back at SonyStyle and now the 25% promotion is back. I guess it had been deleted off there website in error.
I thought I read it in some reviews that its flip cover is not replaceable?

It is removable. It just requires an amount of force to get off. One reviewer didn't feel safe putting that much force on a review unit, so he left the cover on. I have read that other people have taken the cover off.
Everything I've read says you can.
"Unfortunately, you can't flip the flipcover all the way around to the back. The one in the image above is open as much as it will go. You can remove it, though the hinge that remains at the top of the handheld is a bit unsightly." - <http://www.brighthand.com/review/?id=60>
"The flip lid is integrated into the design, and as such it's really not optional. It can be removed, but it looks incomplete." - <http://www.pencomputing.com/palm/avantgo/palmmain.html>
I suspect it requires flexing the cover somewhat.

This may make me sound like a complete computer nerd, but didn't Texas Instruments release translucent plastic sleeves for it's calculators? Seems like Sony is kind of copying that idea. I wonder if my dream PDA (the TG50) will have replaceable and interchangeable flip covers.
