Hey guys!
I'm new here, I was just given a Clie nx80v I never used a PDA before, Iwas not sure what to use it for, I don't have a very busy schedule or that many numbers to store. At first i was thinking of returning it but then it truly grew on me, I'm using it for my mp3's and few schedule here and there and my phonebook but I feel that i can do so much more if anyone has any advice i would truly appreciate it.

Thanks
Sacha

Sacha~ truly, the best thing to do would be to read through the archives in both the NX forum and the Applications forum.

A few things I do with my clie (My previous PDA was an NX)

Read (PalmReader)
Keep TV Listings (TV Browser)
Track my grocery list (Handshopper-free)
Show off pictures of the kids (Acid Image)
Track to-dos (Shadow - it easily links to datebook & ToDo list)
Read the News (iSilo & Avantgo)
Keep track of all my web-logins, serial numbers and credit card numbers (SplashID)
Track my cycle (Woman by Beiks)
Read M$ Word document$ (Docs To Go)
Read .pdf documents with Picsel Viewer
Play Games (Bejeweled, Checkers, Plumber Pete, Sol Free, GB Solitare & Mahjongg)
Then of course, I make movies, take pictures, read email, etc. (these apps come with the PDA)
Help a little? :D

- Capture your friend's face with your small cam and stick it in his/her entry of your phone book :)

- download some infantine games to attract small kids ;)

- get some fortune-teller s/w and pretend to be an expert to pretty ladies

- take a picture on your back to see if you're so stupid and got someone unknowningly sticking anything on your back :D

- to use it as back mirror :D

- .... more

It also makes a great flashlight (picture light), and remote control (change the channel at the local bar). I have to agree with the AvantGo recommendation. Voice recorder comes in handy.

And you really can't appreciate the concept of having a 1 megapixel camera with you at all times until you've had it for a while.

Yep,

i like changing channels and raising volumen in the TVs of Carls's Jr any other place i go to.

Sometimes, i've turned off TV of people showing things on malls, that's fun.

the "digital" zoom is actually quite nice..
i tried it in the camera app, and it turns out all fuzzy (as expected)
but when you actually TAKE a picture, its all clear!
that 1.3MP camera really works well

and one time in Sears, i was walking past the electronics section
i whipped out my clie and inconspicuously turned of all the tv's on my left. everytime i past a tv, it turned off. it was great

Yes, indeed. That's really handy and funny to change the volume/channel of the TV hanging on the ceiling in canteen/restaurant with your CLIE! ;)
