Hi
I wonder if you guys, that own a ux50, could recommend me to buy one?
What do you think are the pros and cons? I want to know all cons expecially!
Thanks

Pros: wifi, bluetooth, still and video camera, mp3 player, keyboard- all built in to a very nice compact unit. Small but gorgeous screen.
Cons:
1. user RAM only 16MB (can be rectified by the internal media memory but still, having more user RAm in the 1st place would have been nice).
2. processor speed - again, not a big issue unless you use lots of memory/processor intensive programs. I made a successful transition from a Tungsten T3 to a UX50 without too much noticable problems with performance.
3. small screen.
I love my UX50 and would only consider upgrading if another Ux-like model comes out with more user RAM.

On the pros I agree with DocGo and add OS5, scroll-wheel and MS-Pro support.
On the negs I don't agree with point 1. I have lots of software installed, but with using the AliasExt (move progs to internal MS) I still have 7 megs free.
Point 2 was never an issue for me cause I was used to have much slower Clie 770 before.
Point 3 I agree, the screen should be greater.
And I want to add two additional negative point:
- You need the cradle or some bulky case to charge the Clie
- Battery live should be greater
But: I like my UX and hope the series will be continued.

You should check out some of the posts about screen whining and crookedness. It's bizarre and irritating.

Well, I know these threads.
I had a whining screen too, but after a replacement by Sony I'm satisfied now.

One BIG plus for me, at least, is that the device is its own cradle for the purpose of having the display facing you. You can put it down on any table or flat surface.
The combination of WiFi and TuSSH in wide screen mode is what makes it the killer PDA for me, though. The other day I downloaded some linux patches, recompiled the kernel and rebooted my proxy server -- from bed, without even lifting my head from the pillow.

The battery does die fast but with the extended battery it has been fantastic. This is a definite necessity for anyone that travels. Makes the experience much, much better.

is the screen smaller? heck yeah - but you know what - the whole device is so small you wont really notice - honest - i only noticed cause i made mine look like a T3 (check out CS Skins section).

The main reason why I felt the screen was small was because I came from using a Tungsten T3...but still, I love the screen in my UX50 and the overall compactness of the device more than make up for it.

I know - the thing is that i have the T3 silk+status skins and some people blink twice when they see it cause it looks so much like a T3 in landscape.
I only have a UX40 but I tell you - it is soo good - better than a T3 for everything but games and memory. But then - when its sooo darn small you cant have the lot can you.
