I must say I'm amazed that Sony didn't include a feature to rename your pix from within Clie Viewer, every time i want to rename a recently shot picture, i have to remember its filename that's generated upon taking the shot, then go to some application like filez or mega (mega what?? ) in order to change the file name to one that is readily recognizable.. to add insult to injury, none of the file management applications i've tried so far has a feature that lets you view thumbnails of ur pix, something that would obviously make identifying picture files for renaming much easier... I'm amazed that a presumingly less advanced OS like the Symbian UIQ in my P800 has featuers to do the above mentioned tasks without even needing a thrid party application... I'm glad i didn't get rid of my P800 as I had planned when I first got the UX50, at least it lets me appreciate more that little devil of a smart phone...

Hmmm, incase your blind theres Clie Files. It lets you rename files, incase some how you never used it, you should know that. Or are you so lazy that you couldnt take the 5 seconds to exit CV and rename them from Clie Files.

I can assure you I'm not blind, and geez, thanks for being so polite... anyways, Clie files lets you rename pix but u gonna have to probably write down the original name and then switch over from clie viewer to do that, i was saying there isnt an application that lets u do that from within it, and I'm sure the usefulness of that is very obvious..

No, it's not very obvious. If anything, it's obvious why it's a bad idea: CLIE Viewer interfaces with CLIE Album and CLIE PhotoStand, which rely on the file name not changing.
In addition, most people would want to preserve the numbering -- especially if transferring the pictures to a PC. If renaming a file, you screw up image sorting too.
To keep track of the images without using the file name, use album software. CLIE Album and PictureGear Studio works just fine for this, and even preserves your annotations between the PDA and desktop.

I agree w/ the original gripe. I was hoping that Clie Viewer/Files would have a thumbnail option so I can rename on the fly.
