I'm rather new to the Palm OS, so bear with me. I assume Netfront is a web browser? Does it have the capabilities of reading web pages stored on your memory card? If so, what directory do they go in? I currently own a Sony Clie NX70V. I don't have network access on my clie, so I need to somehow copy the files over.

The reason I ask is because I'm a fan of the old choose your own adventure books called Lone Wolf (they are not really choose your adventure books, but close enough). I know that Project Aon (http://www.projectaon.org/) has released all of the books in html format. It would be great if I could get these files onto the Clie and then use Netfront to read them.

Wow, this didn't get the response I was hoping for. Anyway, I did tons of research last night and realized the Plucker was the way to go. I didn't even research Netfront.

16 hours later and alot less hair, I managed to convert all books on the Project Aon page into plucker pdb files. This is 18 Lonewolf (15 of the original, 3 misc) books that one can read on plucker... too cool.

I originally wanted to put all books in one file, but JPluck 2 kept freezing towards the end, so I created 3 files :

The original books volume 1-8 :
http://minex.org/clie/lonewolf/lonewolf1_8.pdb
The original books volume 9-13:
http://minex.org/clie/lonewolf/lonewolf9_15.pdb
The miscellaneous books:
http://minex.org/clie/lonewolf/lonewolfmisc.pdb

Note, Project Aon still has to convert books 14 to 20 over. I've tested them on Plucker and they appear to work ok. Send me a PM if you run into any issues.

These files are large (25 megs each for the first two and a few megs for the last one). I kept all book images intact... also, what do you expect out of 18 books.

WTF is Lonewolf and Project Aon? Here's a link :

I did a custom conversion ages ago using the old Project Aon books (They changed the design a bit in the recent ones.)

It's a 20MB iSilo3 document and hold all the books except for the new ones, and I actually hand-customised the HTML to remove all the unnecessary images.
Unfortunately you can't do stuff selectively in iSilo so the images for the maps are too small in later versions where they stopped using tables for the maps. (Because I limited the width to 300px so the other story piccys wouldn't need to be scrolled...)

They were going to try and do a more mobile-friendly format, and I have an old alpha of a PalmReader version somewhere, but I think it's a bit dead in the water atm...

I wanted to help out (I loved the LoneWolf too :D), but I just ain't got the time :(

Hey Minex,

I didn't see your original post, but would have definitely replied.

You can read stored HTML pages with NetFront, I'm trying it now and will reply.

Okay, NF seems to suck for reading stored web pages. It only seems to read files stored in Palm/Programs/MSWEB. And then it's not recognizing links stored in subfolders.

If this is the case, then you have to use a converter/reader like Plucker or iSilo, and your hair-pulling did not go to waste. The Plucker or iSilo files should be smaller anyway.
