Hi, I bought an nx70v off ebay and 2 months later it broke. When I bought it it was only 2 weeks old off some guy who didnt have a clue how to use it and could barely use ebay. He didnt include the proof of purchase with it and Sony are being as unhelpful as they can about it (will charge me £12.50 just to speak to someone on the phone) Is anyone willing to sell me their receipt (UK) so I can use my warranty? Thanks.

But you don't get a warranty with ebay, do you? I'm not sure I understand. sorry. :(

I was under the impression that if you have a proof of purchase then you could register it with Sony for 12 Months from when it was bought. If the guy I bought it off had included his proof of purchase from wherever he bought it, I would have been able to register with Sony to claim the warranty. If anyone has an unregistered proof of purchase within a year ago, could they consider selling it to me please. I Hope this makes sense. Thanks.

I think the warranty, like most warranties, states that it is only applicable to the original owner.

Sounds simple, but did you try asking the person for it or a copy of it?

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I deleted all the emails to the bloke I bought it from so can't get him to send it to me-doh! As long as no-one has registered their Clie before there is no reason why Sony wouldnt accept it as my original receipt. This may sound dodgy but I feel I am entitled to the warranty and if this is the only way I can get Sony to deal with me then so be it.

Hmmm...you don't sound to interested in either finding this guy or talking to e-bay which makes me very skeptical of your request.

Find the guy

Contact e-bay

Did it say it included the reciept?

Is his name on the mailing address

Do you not have a reciept from e-bay with the sellers name?

Do some grunt work will ya?

Not quite sure which part of my email made you skeptical. I have tried to get hold of him, of course I have. This was 2 months ago now and I have been trying since then.He ended the auction early as we agreed on a fair price and wanted to make the trade before Christmas. Therefore there is no record of making a transaction on ebay.I have been emailing ebay sellers making sure that if I buy a new one it definately comes with a proof of purchase. p.s. anyone know where I can buy the zodiac in the UK? Thanks.

Well, you learned some lessons here today:

1) Make sure your purchase comes with a receipt.

2) Keep the contact info of the seller.

3) Don't be so rushy and go through the process so there are records.

Good luck:)
