I cannot get it to work on my nz90. I have the Belkin usb bluetooth adapter and I have set up both to recognize each other. I set up the Network to connect through Bluetooth. When I do this, the blue light stays on, it says connecting, but then says that it can't connect and that it may be a bad serial connection. I do have my XP computer set up for internet sharing. Am I supposed to somehow make the belkin usb adaptor the one that connects 'my computer" to the other computers on the network?" If I am, my XP doesn't list the belking bluetooth adapter as an option. What am i doing wrong here?? HELLLLLLLLP

hmm ok I am not an XP expert...have not upraded yet going to soon..anyway here is what I did for Win98se and then you mihgt be able to take what I did and apply it to XP:

1) I am assuming that hotsync with bt is working? If so then we know the nz90 and BT are paired and communicating? If not let me know.

2) In the configuration settings, click on local services.

In here, make sure the only two things that are enabled is Bluetooth serial adapter, and Network access, make sure everything else in there is disabled.

Make sure the bluetooth serail adapter has a com next to it, mine is com 4 (yours can be different)

3) Now click on client access in the configuration and make sure to delete, where it says bluetooth serial adapter, I think mine said it was connected to com 3 but it could be different.

4) Ok now you have to install ICS, in win98se, go to add/remove programs, click on windows setup, go to internet options, details and install ICS, you will need the win98se cd, once you install it will go through a wizard, make sure to choose the NIC that is connected your cable modem, then reboot.

Now your pc is all set up.

For the NZ90, make sure the bluetooth is enabled, has a device in trusted devices which would be the belkin, make sure discovery and wake is enabled.

Next click on connection, click new, call it whatever you want, I called it Home Lan, connect to PC, via bluetooth, and device name should be the bt adapter, it might have to find it.

Click on details, and I choose 115,200 bps not sure if this matters.

Next click on network in prefs, create a new profile I called mine BT Web, just type the name in and it will create a new profile, for username and password leave blank, connection choose the one you just created (mine is home lan)

click on details now,

make sure PPP is selected as connection type, idle connected set to never,

now I found I had to put in the DNS entries and IP address hardcoded for it to work, I used 192.168.0.2 as the ip address., and make sure in script section all it says is end.

After that in thory once you hit connect it should establish a connection in less then 2 seconds.

I hope that helps.

P.S. for XP and w2k, I think there is an option in network adapters to share, much easier to setup then win98

one more thing I forgot to mention if you have win98se and cannot get ICS to work, download this program instead:

http://www.mochasoft.dk/f_download.html

And click on mochaa ppp

for this setup

make sure everything is diabled including network access except for bluetooth serial adapter

and for some reason i can only get it to work on com 4

when you install mocha ppp, choose windows ce deice this way you can choose 115,200 bps faster then the palm and choose com 4, and it shoudl work.

In fact testing it now for some odd reason it seems much faster then when i was using ICS, in fact faster then wifi, I dont get it, but I am not complaining.

I followed your instructions, but now i have in my system tray a local area network cable is unplugged dialogue. should i un-install the bluetooth software and all and start over again? if not, how do i get that dialogue to disappear?

also, i keep getting the port is in use by another app. and i have changed to COM 3,4,8,13, etc. can't get it to hotsync
