I don't know if this will help, but I tried and tried with so many programs to rip movies and only one would work - Smart Ripper.
I then couldn't convert my .VOB files to anything.. Turns out - my DVD drive is also a dvd burner, and most of the freeware or smaller commercial conversion or ripping software out there doesn't support my drive. So I tried the highly recommended easyvcd ripper software on another box, and voila, success...
I managed to get BladeII down to 2 110-117 meg files with easyvcd and IC. That was with medium to high quality on the easyvcd and standard with IC. As far as I am concerned, it's excellent quality on my tj37. I am attempting now to rip Goldmember to less than 128 mb. We'll see how it goes. I mean, on a screen size this small, I believe there is plenty of room to adjust video quality without significant noticeablity. The important thing to me is that I will have an entire DVD from my library on a memory stick that is worth viewing on a pda.
