Does anybody know if the memory stick speed (read-write speed) will on the new SJ (33 and 22) will be faster than the existing Sl10, SJ20, SJ30??

Oh hell yeah. it'll be WAY faster. It should be in the NR70/T655 range.

I know the SJ33 will utilize the 66Mhz processor.

I tested Memory Stick access on the SJ33 with VFSMark and found that it was just as fast as a T665C.

I ran VFS Mark on mine and it came up with:
102 at 66MHZ
127 at 99MHZ

Yea well even tho the newer SJ series has a 66mhz processor, the T665c/g is still proven slightly faster with is screen refresh rate

BTW,
I have a Clie SJ33...and with all these Memory sticks not working and some do.... what gives?
I'm running iMac Mac OS10.2.4 using itunes and iphoto. Which memory stick should I get? Must i get the SOny Memory Stick or the white magic gate? Or can it be other brands?
I have problem only with Lexar, no problem with SanDisk and Sony. Never want or need to have MG. It's too expensive. Purple MS is good enough to run MP3. Got a 128MB SanDisk MS from Amazon for $27 a couple months ago and it runs super smooth.

Thanks Dan, wow...even Lexar has problems?
What gives? Some ppl have problems with the rets of the brands and now even Lexar has some inconsistencies....
So Dan what you were saying is that you don't need MagicGate MS to run it on a Clie?
No I don't. The purple MS is all I need. The only time I heard people use the white MS (MagicGate) is when they want to listen to music with ATRAC3 format. That is the only thing the purple MS cannot do.

So Dan what you were saying is that you don't need MagicGate MS to run it on a Clie? The vast majority of the problems are with Lexar. Their products are crap. I used to sell them, but had such a high defect/return rate I dropped the line. I know there are people here using them successfully, and to those people I say consider yourself lucky. I consider anything with a 10% defect rate to be very poor quality, and Lexar was 2 to 3 times that!
SanDisk is much better. Still not quite on par with Sony for quality, but a fine product that can be found for bargain prices. I too got in on that $27 deal (considerably below my dealer cost), and I find the performace to be comparable to the Sony sticks. I would estimate the defect rate at around 1 or 2%.
Sony sticks almost never fail. In all the years we have been selling them I think I've seen 1 or 2 bad ones, and we have sold thousands.

Just got my $29 after rebate Lexar purple 128 stick from Amazon last week and so far so good...seems to work just as well as the 64 meg Sandisk I replaced it with.

really? where's that from? how would benchmark tests be identical and the screen refresh rate be different?

Thats what i thought...however faster the new SJ memory stick read/write speed will be, i will definetly upgrade just for that reason....

Hmm,
I'm getting my Memory Stick 128MB soon and its Hagiwara. Any of you heard of this brand? Any reviews for it or comments?
Thanks!
