It let you browse the web from the cradle, use email, nntp, Avantgo and so on... but :
"Current Softick PPP was tested with Palm Computing devices and Sony NX series. Other PDA models could have USB driver issues which prevent USB software from working properly"

I don't mean to be thick here, but if I have my computer in front of me, and my PDA next to it in the cradle, why would I want to browse the web on a 2.5" PDA screen vs. a 17" monitor?

It just crashes my PC.
I would like to have this though. I used the serial-internet W32 PPP from Mochasoft too. I used it to download maps with Atlas (by GPS Pilot). Can't think of any other use though. Maybe for using the PQA's? Or maybe just for "the fun of it".

I can give you a very simple reason to try this, I would like to get Bluetooth, but instead of spending a lot of money only to be disappointed I would like to actually see and try the web out on my Clie,
then I can decide wth the software available, if it is worth the outlay on harware for Bluetooth

In the Prefs app/Network tab, I set Service to Windows RAS, Username and password specified in the windows config... I get the Connecting stage and then to the Initializing stage... but then I get an error PPP timeout (0X1231)
I already created the connection with the Palm RAS driver and I get a system sound in Win XP SP1 when click the Connect button in the palm network prefs... but then it dies
anyone has had this sort of problem ? or how do i set up both win xp and my nx to work well with the program...
thanx,
Carlos

I reinstalled Palmdesktop and Softick and then I got the PPP timeout too. I reset my PC and from then on it worked fine.
My setup is as follows:
On the PC side I just followed the readme and on the NX i created a "LAN" connection (Connect to "Local Network" and Via "Cradle cable") and then a connection with this network setting and my Windows Login/Password

Here's a reason to use it: Let's say you're doing something on your computer that requires all of your screen, but you still want to be on AIM. Be logged on on the Clie so that it doesn't take up space on screen. Is that feasible, though?
