Before the big Cliesource crash there were instructions on the site on how to setup a PalmOS 4 device (or any Clie) with a LG LX5350 phone on the Sprint PCS Vision service, and using a cable from TheSupplyNet (http://www.thesupplynet.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=6433). I'm looking at getting the cable so I can use my phone as a modem until I get the TG50 and hopefully a Bluetooth enabled phone from Sprint PCS. Does anyone still have those instructions? I really would love to setup my Clie so I can browse the web, albeit slow, but I would be able to do it on a larger screen than my cellphone.

On the same vein of browsing the web, can anyone recommend a decent web broswer for Palm OS 4 devices? I'd like one that supports Jscript if possible, so I can access sites like Hotmail and such to get my web based e-mail. Thank you!

I got a data cable from this site (www.thesupplynet.com) and I was able to surf the web and chat on icq with my Clie T665. The speed was good about 46k max. The power consumption was way less that I thought. If anyone wants to get the detail on how to set up this task, please post your request on this forum and I'll post the instruction. Have fun! Next step I'll get the bluetooth memory stick.

Thank you for the information, but I'm looking for the exact instructions first before buying the cable. I want to know what I'm getting into.

The procedure below works for me (though using NX), via LG 5350+SupplyNetCable:

Quoted from 'Azone':

"Go to the Palm device and tap on PREFS then Connection and make a new connection called Vision. Under Connect to method choose PC (not Modem) , then Via: Cradle/Cable, Tap Details, Speed: 115,200, Flow Ctl: Automatic

Now Tap on Connection and go to Networking. Under Service, change it to read: Vision.
User Name: phone number@sprintpcs.com and Password: (your vision password) Connection: Vision,
tap Details. Idle timeout: Power Off/Never , check the box for Query DNS, and check the box for IP Address: Automatic. Tap Script and enter the following:

Send:ATDT#777
Send CR:
End:

---------------------------

LG 5350 phone settings, also quoted from Azone:

"I have Mine set to (Connection = Off, Method = RS-232C And Speed = 115200). Also make sure your palm is set to 115200 in the connections. "

Thank you for the details. I just have two really newbie sounding questions. One, where do I go in the phone to check the settings? And two, what is a good web browser that supports JavaScript on an OS4 device? Thank you!

I've tried those settings before for myself, and I've never gotten them to work right. I've tried different settings, but nothing seems to work for me.
