I tried appshelf when it first came out and was underwhelmed with the initial version. I've heard enough good to try again but now when I load the app it pops up with "AppShelf has expired" and goes no further.

I've tried deleting the attached prefs but the author must have created another pref file that doesn't clean out with the app when it's deleted. The trouble is, even if I decided to buy I wouldn't be able to enter a reg number!

Any ideas? (and I'm not willing to delete my entire pref file just to demo a launcher)

Thanks

well, the way of reg is actually different than what you expected.
by paying $12, you can download a file calls AppShelfLic.prc whose
name is quite self-explanatory i.e a key to unlock the time limit. :)

So by way of that explanation, I could only try the demo if I wipe out all my prefs and start from scratch. "F" that. I'll look at the new zlauncher instead.

The developer gave you a month to evaluate the program.
The latest version isn't very different from the one you had a look at, so there is a good chance that you would still be underwhelmed! By the way, McFile, his other popular program, has the same limitation.

I had the same problem with another program and this is what i did.

Do a backup (i use the one that comes with the UX).
Do a hard reset.
Install AppShelf and some other programs to see how they fit together (no need for data as you only seeing how the launch side of things work).
If you like then puy the $12.
Restore from backup and install the AppShelfLic.prc.

Done :)
