This is not for the faint of heart, but...
I'm looking at the various address book replacements (this is not meant to start a "who's got a bigger one" contest), and one of my needs was to be able to keep more than one address database. Yeah, I can simulate that through the category feature, but in my office we have a company contacts list that's updated to everyone through Outlook/NetFolders. It's too cumbersome for my personal use, so I have a seperate personal contacts in Outlook.
SuperNames (v2.1b3 is what I'm using) has the ability to carry multiple databases, switch between them, and sync them all to Outlook (and I assume whereever else you keep addresses).
It does it pretty well, but it's stated as "for advanced users" and that is true...not because it's difficult, but because if you're not real careful in what you're doing, you can sync the wrong database and really mess things up!
Trick is to *pay atttention* to which database you're using on the handheld...since that's the one that syncs to the desktop always. And on the desktop you have to use sync software that allows you to change the default folder in Outlook, such as PocketMirrorPro...but again, *pay attention* to your settings so you can reset the default folder back to your basic contacts folder.
SuperNames has an icon on the top bar that allows you to switch between databases, so that's easy.
So...other than posting this as a feature some may need, my real question is are there other address/contact replacement apps out there that will let you create multiple address databases, or is SuperNames the only one?
