Hello Brains!

I would rather not have the "games" catagory on my T665C. I delete it on my Clie, but when I hotsync, it returns. The same thing happened on my T615C. Is there a way to permanently delete the catagory?

By the way, I've lurked here for HOURS - thanks to everybody for all the great information (and entertainment). You talked me into upgrading from my 615.

I just tried removing my games category. I then re-synced and it remained gone... Are you using a backup program that restores the categories?

It should delete fine if it is empty.

I have deleted and added several catagories over time and syncing has never changed my settings. Are you sure that you aren't (or haven't) done anything else?

Duh...I've found the problem. I have a game on my MS. Once I open it, the Games catagory is recreated. Oh well!

Yeah, some games, especially from Astraware, do this. I complained to Howard (the president) and he says they are aware of it but it is a side-effect of solving a problem for newbies. Too many of them instal a game for the first time and don't think to look in "Unfiled." They just see their "Games" folder is empty then call Astraware's tech support.

The best suggestion I can come up with is use a third-party app launcher which doesn't care what categories the default Launcher has.

Why would you want to delete the Games category?

Thanks for the tip and the reason why this happens!

I'd like to delete the Games category because I have all my games installed on a memory stick and would rather not have any extra clutter in my menu. Also, I mainly use my PDA for business and would rather not have something show up that could someone the impression that I'm playing with a "toy" whenever I use it at work.
