Hi,

my magnetic carpark ticket can't work after placing it with the clie inside my pocket. This is the second ticket!

I feel very worry about the probable emission of harmful radiation that it may have as I have just using the Clie to take a very close-up movie with my wife who have got pregnant.

Could anyone have the idea of that? In fact I can't find any disclaimer on the manual taking about the FCC standard just like other electronic products.

Car tickets and Metro cards and the like are very sensitive. You could mess one up with a magnet from you refrigerator. I doubt it is in an "emission" as such and more like a magnetic field inside the Clie. I'm sure it wasn't on while it was in your pocket with the card. I sincerely doubt your device could cause any harm, although I can understand your concern given your present situation.

I don't think that the Clié make a so heavy magnetic field that the baby could had a problem. Look at some mobiles phones, they were used very closed of the baby when it was in his mother's belly and they don't have any problems.

I don't have any problem with my bank card which was close to my Clié.

Please forgot my english, but these days I talk like a spanish cow

The magnet in the speaker is causing you grief.

I've had coins and paperclips stick to the back of my Clie when I'm not careful where I put it on my desk.

We have a winner folks :)
I never noticed that before, but you could pick screws out of the carpet with that speaker.

Yet another use for the Clié.

Sshhh! Keep it quiet! If Sony figures this out, they will charge us another $50 for that "function";)

I would think that the largest source of RF would be the WiFi card, and maybe the processor,
using both a field strength meter, and a frequency counter, I picked up no rf from the clie, with the wifi card off.
but like others have said, the magnet, will mess with mag strips on the back of atm cards, bus passes, ect. of course so will your cell phone, walkman, anything with a speaker. I believe the WiFi card has been aproved by the FCC(it has RF)
