I just got a T665 and was installing the software on top of my old T615. I was reading the instructions for SonicStage and transferring MP3 files to the Clie for listening. In the instructions, it says that the MemorySticks need to be of the MemoryGate type.

Is this true? Or is this just a limitation of SonicStage - the copy protection stuff?

If you just use a normal MemoryStick, do you need to use different software to transfer the MP3 files to the Clie? If so, what desktop software do people use?

Is there a Clie Audio FAQ somewhere?

Cheers,
Steve

Yes, it is just for the copy protection that you use the magicgate MSs and Sonic Stage.  I just use MSImport and drag my regular MP3 files over to be transferred to a regular MS.  Works great.

Regular MP3 files will play on a regular MS, and can be moved using MSImport.

The ATRAC3 format requires using Sonic Stage and Magicgate MS
