I currently have a T665 and my wife has a Sj33. My cradle from the T665 works with her SJ33 because both are the same width

I am planning to upgrade from the T665 to the TJ37 and it seems like the TJ37 is just a tad wider but it doesnt come with a cradle.
:(

Strangely enough the cradle for the TJ 37 is also compatible with the SJ33. However when you look at the TJ37's cradle, it is obvious it does not have the side lips that guide the pda in like the T665 one does. This is why the SJ33 can the fit wider TJ37 cradle. It is obvious that the connector is the same for the three models.

If I upgrade to the TJ 37, I dont want to buy another cradle if I dont have to. Does anyone know how close the fit is if you try to put the TJ37 in the cradle for the T665? Is is a close fit or is it a "No way in Hell" fit?

The specs from sony suggest that the TJ 37 is less than 1/8 of an inch wider than the T665. If it is a close fit, I could sand the inside edges of my existing cradle to accomodate the 1/8 inch.

Let me know your thoughts

Thanks

the problem are the square corners on the TJXXs.  the T6XXs are just too curvy and SONY made their cradle perfectly contoured.

i have spent many "monkey-with-a-tool" moments looking at my old T415 and my T665 cradle, crashing my girlfriend's TJ25 into them.  it ain't gonna happen.

the cradle would need complete dismantling and you probably would have to discontinue use of the inner white scoop of the cradle (this alone would give enough for the slight width difference), the corners on the outer silver shell where the unit rests would need much sanding.

possibly a bigger pain and greater hassle than purchasing the new cradle.
