Hi Guys/Gals,
Could someone post some pics taken with the TH-55? Would like to see the medium res shots. From what I've seen some shots are particularly sharp from a teeny 0.3MP camera.
However, the blue fringing problem reported in another thread bothers me, would like to look at more real life photos to see if its truly evident.
Will prob get a Clie today or tmrw! so excited! Esp about the batt life coming from a T665! :P

Hey nice pics guys/gals. Keep em' coming. So far I can say that its pretty sharp for a CMOS 0.3MP cam and I dun see any problems with the cam. The smaller images look pretty ok. Think as long as u work within the limitations pics will be good :)

I think the quality of the pictures taken with the TH55 is much better than some of the pictures taken with 310kpix cell phone cameras out there. However, I have a hard time holding the TH55 steady when I take pictures, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

jherubin,
It looks like you have the same issue with the red shifing a bit to green indoors.
If there are any issues with the camera, as an amateur photographer, I'd say it's that the Auto White balance kind of sucks and that there really is no decent white ballance for indoors, even though there are two, they both misrepresent reds, imho.
I will agree with the afore mentioned statements though, the quality, especially show crisp and sharp the photos are, is really impressive for a 0.3MP camera. I had an NR70V a while back, and to compare the photos is almost depressing. This thing is no wonder of a digital camera, but its pretty amazing as a PDA with a digital camera built in.
...and with only a little effort, you can send those photos to YiShow for backgrounds.

I agree...the colors are outta whack a bit. I should note that almost all the pics I posted were taken in some pretty low light conditions (with no natural lighting at all).
I will have to play some more in an outdoor setting. I like what I see though after looking at some of the others posted.
Definately not a true digital camera replacement but does do a decent job for those impromptu moments when something quick is needed.

Yeah, my wife is the "keeper of the Digital Camera" in our household and she never takes pictures of anything, so I'm glad this is good enough quality that I feel like I can snap off some photos when "Kodak Moments" present themselves.

Sorry Peloquin, the message wasn't aimed at you or your wife. Hope I didn't offend. Just didn't want the thread to go off the deep end.

Porn? You have GOT to be kidding!! Methinks the 'kids' see more 'Porn' watching an episode of Friends than was shown here.
Besides, the comments I made were light hearted (thus the ;)) and should be treated as such. Maybe you should concentrate your efforts more on proper grammar

WOW! You removed all construction workers bent over showing 'their' cleavage, LOL! The photo with the SUV in the middle, I noticed 'there' is a swirling motion around it, is that a filter/setting in the TH55?
Peloquin

It think it's just kind of a result of the "fisheye lense" on the camera. It's depth of feild is much better in the center (where your subject would normally be) but softer on the edges. I think the swirling is a combination of that poor depth of feild and me snapping the picutre quickly.
That's the one other thing I've noticed about this camera. You have to hold it really still to get a clear photo. I've probably thrown away almost half my photos due to blurring, but then again, it only takes a half second to take another picture and I'm usually aware of the fact that I wasn't holding it very still...
It's just something to get used to, like all new technology.

Hi Peloquin,
If you surround your image references with [imgn] [/imgn] tags they will line up vertically instead of horizontally. This makes it easier to read this page because we won't have to scroll horizontally.

Well, it was stacking vertically on my browser, but I added the "N" for all you IE viewers

Would anyone happen to know if the camera on the TJ27/37 is the same as on the TH55?
Peloquin
03-13-2004, 09:15 PM
the stats on it are all identical so I think it would be safe to assume it's an identical piece of hardware. But that' just my assumption.

I've a TH55 and it's working awesome! But the pictures aren't displayed at Palm Desktop after theHot-Sync. Of course, I can see them at the TH55, but I want to modify/edit them on my PC and put them back to the TH55 ... any suggestions?

Get a memory stick reader for your PC. It's a very quick and easy way to transfer stuff between your TH and desktop. You can find them very cheaply in the US; I don't know about Venezuela. ;)

Perhaps it's me, I'm used to higher resolutions cameras, but I find the focus on the TH-55 camera tough to deal with. seems to focus fine close but not beyond 5 feet.

the camera on the TH is definitely not to be compared to normal cameras. It should be put up for comparison with other PDAs and Phones, in which case it's surprisingly good. Its like comparing a polaroid instamatic wtih a 35mm SLR. They're not the same.

Hehe, I just sold my first digital camera. A Sony Mavica F5.
Compared to that ancient camera, the TH55's built-in camera is comparable if not a bit better.
And no floppies!
Still looking forward...
