All those threads lost in an attempt to speed up cliesource and now it is slower than before the great purge whats up with that:confused:

Seem like a normal speed to me.

I don't think those threads were lost in an attempt to speed up Cliesource either.

I haven't noticed anything unusual or slow . . .

Fast as usual. (I use Mozilla with tabbed browsing to load my 32 favourite threads on startup, and it rarely takes more then 5 to ten seconds)

Either have I. Maybe it is your connection.

The current Netscape 7 releases are actually Mozilla 1.0.x releases, just recompiled with a different name. The 1.0.x series is a bugfix series that doesn't add any more features, as opposed to Mozilla 1.1.x, 1.2.x and 1.3.x (current version is 1.3.2)

Hmm? It seems OK with any of the browsers I am using: IE, Netscape 7.02 and even Netfront.

I have no problem with the speed.
Pages open in seconds. I am on a DSL connection.

Ok, so thats what you are connecting to your ISP at, but it doesn't show bottlenecks along the way.  Do a tracerout to see if there is a slow leg.

Just to add that there's no slowdown at my end here in Guam. I'm using Opera 7.02, btw.

It seems like the bottlenecks, when they occur, are the ads. Once the ads are up, everything else seems to load almost instantaneously. I wonder if the server the ads are on is under-powered.

I have seen slow loading of the front page at work, but not the actual forum pages. No blocker running at work. I don't have that problem at home with my ad blocker running. Looks like it could indeed be the ads.

Fast connection here with my cable modem. Not too bad at work, either, with a dial-up.

It's slower than before with me: IE 5.0 on a Mac.

Has anybody noticed the speed of this site? It is much faster in the past few days!!! I am using IE, Netscape 7.02 and Opera and even the MSN portal.

No, and at times, it seems to take forever to load a page. I am on a cable modem and using IE. There are times I can go to the can and come back and the page is still trying to load.

I repeat, this only happens at times!

Its fast as always for me. Using Phoenix .5.

I did not realize any slow down or speed up in the past or today...

It is at good speed as usual.

I think part of it is timing.... remember you are sharing the outbound connection from cliesource servers with all users who are on at the same time. :)

True. And now that the bandwidth-sucking OT forum has been brought under control, I expect more increased performance.

I feel the same way. At times it seems to be very slow. I'm on Cable with 512/128 and it can take about 20 seconds for a page to START to load. Seemed like that happened just before "The Great Purge".

I also log on at work on my laptop and it seems slow from there too and I 'm connecting over a T-1 (perk of being the boss).
