How do you like Facer?

I was looking around for a "today" page when I found this launcher. Liked the app a lot.

Do you know of any other good "today" application? By good, I mean it should
- be hi-res
- show list today's items, not just say "you have 2 todos today"
- support themes or backgrounds

I like the Today page of facer also. The launcher part I don't care for though. Wassup also has a today page. I haven't tried it out but I have heard some good comments about it.

Sorry, I forgot. I don't like Facer at all compared to other launchers currently available.

I like it. Sure it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of ZL, etc. but it uses less than 500K skinned. That's more than half the size of the others. Try it out for a few days and see if it fits your style. If not try Zlauncher, then Megalauncher. You also might want to check out www.launcherplug.com. A great review of launchers there.

Facer is good. Will buy it if it can support smaller fonts on the today page.

Frankly, I fail to find much value in these big name launchers. Reason, dont find myself using making use of most of their features. How often do you categorize/delete/beam applications? I just need a good looking, read skinnable, launcher with VFS support. But most stuff out there is overloaded with features, and hence 500k+.

But then, its all my personal opinion. Dont want to start a launcher war here :-)

Oh, I say this with much trepidation. I use Megalauncher 3.22 for the very reasons you mention, cutTheCords. This is NOT a "Megalauncher is better" statement but a "less is more when you want to do a subset quickly & easily. I find backgrounds hard on the eyes when trying to read filenames. I find 320x480 hard to use with lots of files in a category because I don't have a grafitti area to "letter down the list". I like the FAVORITES popup and I like the quick access to Soft Reset and Prefs. I have tried to jump on board with Zlauncher 3 different times now since it always sounds so COOL. Just doesn't translate to the bottom line for the list of things that *I* do. These launchers are ALL good in their way but sometimes we forget that a long list of goodies is only useful if you use them. Sooooo....I'll get off the soapbox and say "try 'em all" and don't be swayed by anything except what is useful to YOU.
