Problems synching w/Outlook

I recently bought a used n760 (upgrading from a Visor) and really like it. However, I'm having trouble getting my Outlook contacts list to transfer over in the same format used on my pc. When I sync the changes I've made in the clie revert back to the previous. I've tried setting it up using "sync" throu intellisync and "desktop wins". No difference. Any suggestions? I'm using the intellisync software that came on the install cd.

Double check the desktop settings for Intellisync. It defaults to syncing only new items. You needto change it to syncing all.

By the way....you may want to use the PocketMirror program that came with your visor. If you use DateBk or any calendar program that can accept categories, Intellisync doesn't do categories for the calendar.

That's what I ended up using. I used the one that came with my Palm Vx CD.

Thanks for the suggestion. So how do I get rid of Intellistink and start using PocketMirror instead? I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Clie desktop and the only option for outlook is Intellistink. I'm rather new to the PDA world, so if this is something really basic please forgive me. You need to find the PocketMirror program on your Visor CD and install that. Should be pretty straight forward.

Thanks. Can't claim anything original - got the "intellistink" term from reading other posts on this site regarding outlook sync problems. I'll mess with it over the weekend and see what happens.

Make sure to uninstall Intellisynch first! Then install Pocket Mirror from the Visor CD. Before using it, visit www.chapura.com and download all of the updates and install them next.

I dumped Intellisynch about two weeks after I got my Clie and went back to Pocket Mirror. If you use Outlook, this is the software to have.

Okay, I reinstalled the Visor desktop, downloaded the Chapura update, and uninstalled Intellisync. Now I can't get the clie to sync. I have two palm desktop icons now as well as the chapura icon. I've gone through the hotsync help section. I'm sure this is something basic, but I'm drawing a blank. Any suggestions?

Success, finally! Here's what I did: uninstalled both desktops (just the palm portion, not pocketmirror) then reinstalled the clie desktop without the intellisync portion. Opened up hot sync manager and set everything to desktop overwrites handheld, then tried to sync. Didn't work until I restarted the computer, but now I am successfully using the pocketmirror and am rid of Intellistink! Hooray! Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

Yes. That's right!

A fast way to set Pocket Mirror conduits is to click the PM icon on the top tool bar of outlook. You can choose one-time actions from there. Saves changing each conduit one at a time.
