To tell you the truth, I too think USJ22 is full of crap on some respects - I just got tired of fighting him. Besides, I haven't seen him recently ...
If you are going to rant against someone, it does help to register. Mike, Mr. Unreg said NOTHING about a PPC - only stated that your friend was dead wrong and exhibiting strong signs of blithering idiocy ... if he is your friend, do him a favor and correct his wrong thoughts ... (and the SJ-22 is nowhere near as "customizable" as the T|E, sorry - Sony probably carries more of a name recognition in school, and the SJ-22 is more within the budgets of teens ...)

Oh Lord. This thread should be deleted immediately. It really shows how Cliesource has gone down the toilet the past few months.
Mike P, that was one of the weakest comebacks I've ever read on a message board. Plus, the immaturity really shines when other users hail his post as a "good one" when it really was dreadful.
By the way, MP3 is possible on the SJ22 with Sony's add-on adapter but I have heard stories of it not working even with it. Also, the SJ22 is capable of running at 66MHz when overclocked.

*sigh* truth hath been spoken ...
USJ22's problem with the CPU speed was that he said that 66mHz was the nonoverclocked performance. He then proceeded to spew a load of bs about how CPUs use a chip's average speed as the listed price (if I remember correctly, the chip would have to be running at as low as 2mHz for the range specified). He also never said a word about the audio adapter, instead preferring to go the route of an MP3 decoder and Clié Sound Convertor. He then told most of the board that we were full of it when we proved him incorrect ...
(P.S. I'm hoping that everyone's good flame post was sarcastic - his was worse than "Your mom, too!")

Funny you should bring that up. Ultra SJ22 now owns a Tungsten E. I talked to him the other day on AIM, and he upgraded to one. Please stop cutting him down, because he is my friend. His truth is very creative, but you got to give him credit, he is pretty smart for his young age.

ANY PALM HANDHELD IS CRAP!!!!!!!!! A useless piece of plastic!
CLIE's equivalent to palms cost ~$50 more. IT'S WORTH IT!
I must say that ~99% of ppl in this forum are smart enough to choose sony over palm, or if already made a mistake, correcting it.
BTW, SJ 22 is $100 now while TE is $200.
I got NX80v for $220 which beats TE in every way possible!
Even SJ 33 for $170 beats TE

Yes, please stop trying to exaggerate the SJ22, it's really not as great as you described it, we all know that

The SJ22 IS capable of running at 66MHz, but it is HIGHLY unstable, and you cannot possibly play MP3s while overclocked, and the SJ22 CANNOT POSSIBLY run at 66MHz nonoverclocked.

Unstable? Strange. I used to run my SJ30 (practically the same thing as the SJ22) at 66MHz all the time, and it never crashed any more than it did at 33MHz.

Lately, they do seem to have some quality control issues. However, they have been giving Sony a run for its money in terms of innovation.Originally posted by BOJI4OHKA

Even SJ 33 for $170 beats TE That's because all of those models have been discontinued. The SJ22 was the same price when it was released.

The most stable speed I have overclocked my SJ22 is was 63MHz with FastCPU

Currently, I"m not sure where I stand anymore in the whole PalmOne versus Sony thing. At first, one advantage that PalmOne had over Sony was their standardized APIs. Anyone who has a Clie with Sony's API will know that it's hard to find multimedia applications that work (if any exist at all). However, Sony in my eyes had more innovative devices.
But now, Sony is using PalmSource's APIs as well.. and PalmOne is getting more innovative.
However, there are some reasons why I would not want to switch to a PalmOne device now... Firstly, I absolutely love Sony's JogDial navigators. Great idea. Back button is great and highly useful. But.. the main reason why I wouldn't switch to PalmOne is because of my memory sticks... in a way, this is one "disadvantage" to Sony... once you go with a Clie and get a memory stick, you feel almost locked in.. because unless you have some other use for the memory stick, it's not nice to just "throw" it away.. or resell it at a fraction of the cost... I would have loved to go for a T|C instead of my TG50, but I felt that the loss of the $100 that I spent on the memory stick, plus the extra $100 i knew I would end up spending on an SD card didn't sit well with me.
At least with PalmOne using SD cards, you can then feel free to move to a Zodiac, or a PocketPC, or almost any other PDA that uses SD cards....
And SJ22 vs T|E? Realistically, I think the T|E wins... Although the SJ22 is cheaper, the T|E has more multimedia features than the SJ22..
And the SJ33 vs T|E? I guess it depends on what you want... The main downside to the SJ33 IMO is the OS4 operating system, and the non standard APIs... But other than that, I think that it's a very close call. The SJ33 is a great device that holds up pretty well against the lower end OS5 devices. IMO...

Ummm... That's a very biased opinion and I would love to see evidence. NOt all Palmone handheld's are crap, so just get off of it. Sony has had some bombs as well.
"I must say that ~99% of ppl in this forum are smart enough to choose sony over palm, or if already made a mistake, correcting it. "
I went from a Sony to a Palm and am very happy. Sony's use of memory sticks is what turned me off.
"BTW, SJ 22 is $100 now while TE is $200."
These 2 pda's aren't really comparable. One is an OS 4 33 mhz, while the other is an OS 5 126 mhz. In my opinion, the TE is still a better buy.
"I got NX80v for $220 which beats TE in every way possible!"
Was that the initial price of the NX when it came out? No!!! The TE is for a budget concious consumer who would like multimedia features but have no need for a camera, keyboard, ect.
"Even SJ 33 for $170 beats TE "
How is that? What would you rather have? OS 5 for $20 dollars more that gives you more possibilities software wise?
Next time, think before you post.
