I didn't even know Decuma came with the NX80V.

This is the coolest entry method for me.

I have to do a lot of fixups with Grafitti 1 and 2, but now I can get my entry right before sending it to the app.

Noodles, congrats on your new 80!

Now, for the dumb question...is there a Decuma manual to read somewhere? I have looked at it and can't figure it out. It doesn't replace Graffiti 1 (which I have loaded on my NX80)? I don't even know how to enable it. :(

Yes, there are instructions. Check out your CD.

However, here are some tips.

(1) To enable (on the NX80), tap on the icon on the bottom bar that's fourth from the left (home, menu, find, and then one with a box and an arrow). This will bring "Silk Plug-In." Pick "Decuma Input" and tap "OK." This will now replace your normal VG area with the Decuma one.

(2) There should be a program on your Clie called "Decuma." This is the configuration program to "teach" it. I'd suggest that you not use this program until you already understand Decuma. Decuma works just fine without any teaching, but this program lets you finetune, if you really need.

(3) When Decuma VG is open, tap the "?" on the right top. This will give you a short tutorial.

Yup, Decuma is IT for me. However, it's seldom used now on a UX50.

anniebluesky, here's the manual (http://www.decuma.com/support/latin_sonyclie_3/index.html). ;)

squeff, thanks for tip. Btw, check out our NX73 avatar (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/member.php?s=&action=editavatar) it now has a transparent background.

I have a TG50 and I've switched from mainly using the thumbpad to a Decuma/thumpad combo (mostly using the "BS/Del" key).

It's now my most used single peice of software that didn't come with the TG. Highly Recommended.

You can also swipe from left to right or right to left on the bottom tool bar to cycle through the VG Silk Plug-ins. I have taken out one of them so that I only have the Standard and Decuma. Toggles between them.

Squeff, At least now I can find out how to enable it...important if I want to try and use it, lol.

Joel, thanks for the link to the manual. That will certainly answer some questions.

Broth, that is a great tip! I use Okey and the arrows cover the fourth icon that you need to tap to access the silk plug in. Now I won't have to disable Okey to get to Decuma.

I like to write the whole word or sentence (with the continuous stroke) which is not supported by decuma, does anyone know that apps for our Palm OS (since pocket pc has it)

I don't know if this helps, but when you get to the end of a line, you can keep going by continuing at the far left (to the left of the ^).

Decuma will send the 1st line and let you keep on a writin'

Jus want to check does decuma works on NX70V?
cos i tried to enable it by selecting it from the silk plug in. But it's still using the default silk plug in instead of decuma's...

Louiscorpio,

What version of Decuma are you using (i.e., what langauge)? Does it match the language of the NX70V/G? Where did you get Decuma (i.e., are you using a demo you downloaded, did you purchase Decuma, are you using a copy you borrowed from someone)?

After reading some comments in this post I decided to try Decuma. Well a day later and I'm already ready to say it's great. Much faster then Graffitti.

I managed to get it to work after doing a soft reset, DECUMA is great! it's a wonderful piece of SW.

I love it too. I was writing away within minutes of setting up my Clie. Tried Graffitti afterwards--but to learn a whole new alphabet? No thanks!

OK I figured it out.

Is there any way to have Decuma be the default when writing in the graffitti area?
