Does there exist a text reader for the palm os that allows for different colors, or even images to be used as backgrounds? I have an SJ30 and, though the display really is very nice, I find that reading text on it for long periods of time against a "super-white flourescent" background tends to give me a headache. Thanks for any help.

PalmReader (possibly only the Pro version, tho) will let you create and use different color schemes... It's quite nice. I have a "Night Vision" settings with red letters on a black background for reading in bed with the lights off. I also made a "Slightly Dim" setting with a grey background to chisel the edge off the standard white background.

That's exactly what I've been doing :-). I'm using the Pro version.
Mobipocket does that too
I am using both PalmReaderPro and Handstory though. I am using PalmReader Pro for English language texts and Handstory for Russian texts (because PalmReader Pro does not allow pop-up dictionary support for "copy" function - only their own Merriam Webster. I am using SlovoEd with Handstory)
Although it does not have a color scheme option, Handstory is quite good, and I found a way to utilize a colorize program called Butterfly to create my personal backgrounds with Handstory
Five stars for PalmReaderPro, Handstory, and Butterfly.
