Howdy,

I have had problems with my existing LinkSys router/gateway/firewall/wireless access point working and playing nicely with my NX70.  It's terribly unreliable.  I have engaged in numerous threads and tried a multitude of proposed solutions without any success.  The only thing I haven't done is revamp my entire network to utilize static IP's.  Everything else works great using DHCP but the Clie just pukes on it for some reason.  Anyway, a friend of mine wants to buy my LinkSys which gives me the perfect opportunity to buy a new one that I can be sure works well with my current setup including my Clie.  So my question/request is...  Please tell me what brand and model router/gateway/firewall/wireless access point you use successfully in DHCP mode with your NX/WL-100.

Thanks so much for your help....:D

There are many posts with recommendations for wireless access points. As a matter of fact, there are recommendations for the Linksys W11 version which is 802.11b. The Linksys W54 for 802.11g will NOT work with the Sony WL100!

stupid question: have you tried turning off powersave mode on the clie wifi?

I use netgear MA814 wireless router and it works great without any tweaking.

i actually use the linksys befw11s4 wireless router and it works great, the ip's are dynamic, all the settings are the same as when they come out of the box, except for the network name.
i also use a 3com router that works pretty good too. as with the linksys router its all dynamic.

Outie,

The first thing I did is turn off the powersave mode.

skiclie; I have used my BEFSR41/WAP11 Linksys router/wap in DHCP mode successfully (what Linksys products are you using?). It's worth noting that your network doesn't have to be all fixed or all DHCP - I have reserved a range for fixed IPs (including many of my wireless devices) but also allow DHCP for visitors, etc.

I agree with skiclie, the Linksys was a real bear to get going. The router is DCHP, but everything had to be set statically for everything to work and be reliable. The Clie would not work with power save on. Others had terribly slow connections. Most seem to have had the least difficulty with NetGear.

I wish I could help you out here but my Sony Lancard hasn't come yet.....Amazon has it on backorder and I'm getting really inpatient.

Definitely the Netgear MR814. Cheap, good range, and very compatible with the WL100. I'm actually making this post from the NX....
