Hey there,
i am trying to install Clié desktop on my Windows Nt station but get an error message. Even if my computer has a USB connector on it.
Is there any program out there doing the job ?

Got bad new for you...
NT does not support USB - even if the PC has the USB connector on it, the OS does not recognise it. You need to sync up via serial port.
The other way around the NT limitation is to upgrade your OS to Windows XT, ME or 2000.

Windows XP would work better than XT would ;)
If you're going to upgrade an OS just for this, I'd stear clear of ME. Wayyy too buggy.

Your best bet for upgrade is XP Pro.
Next would be win 2k

What if you can't upgrade? I have the same issue...I'd like to hotsync at work, but the OS is windows NT. Is there some sort of adapter available that would convert the USB cord for the Clie to a serial connection? (Preferably one that doesn't require drivers, since I can't add any software to my work PC.)

No I don't believe that there is. If there was you would most definatly need drivers for it.

Guys, guys, guys, all is not lost (probably) I know for sure that this works with the N770 and from what I have read elsewhere I'm pretty sure it will work for other models. You need to download the Palm version of the desktop from Palm's website and install that, this has support for serial connections, you then need to get a serial cable from somewhere like Brando in Hong Kong (http://shop.brando.com.hk) or thesupplynet (don't know the URL) and Bob's your uncle.
