Just curious. I have my thoughts about it after playing at BestBuy, but I'll save them for later. I'm really curious if any physicians have bought the machine and if there are any serious software conflicts.

General Surgery...PG3. The NZ is a little big, obviously bigger than the NX. Not a problem for my white coat, but a little big for my scrubs. Much better pictures for the operating room than my NX. Holds epocrates, med calc, med rules, etc pretty well. In addition, I code my cases on Smartlist to Go.

I would but there seems to be a differing of opinions as to whether or not I can use both an NR and an NZ on one computer; even the Sony Techs disagree, so I guess I just wait and see(maybe for the Sony with 32MB of RAM).
I almost bought the NZ today but because I can't get a straight answer...?

I am starting residency this summer and am considering upgrading my T-615 for the new NZ. I was curious about your mentioning the 32mb clie - I had not heard about that and would like to know more if you have any info. 11mb even with a huge MS is not enough - many programs I use require a large chunk of RAM such as Skyscape etc. Thanks - wMC

I sync several different Clie models to the same PC without problems. Just be sure to assign each one a different user name.

My reference to "32MB" is wishful. There is a Palm OS with 32 MB and a built in GPS, but no VG.
I sync my NR and my wifes T615 with no problems; I was referring to an issue with the NZ and another Clie synced to the same computer.

I think the Garmin will have VG and 32 MB. In fact, if that SD slot is SDIO compatible (I don't think it is), I will be buying that one to use the SanDisk 802.11 SD Card.

Skyscape (http://www.skyscape.com) has tons of software for the medical field.

The NZ is among the Clies I sync to the same desktop. No problems.

Good to know that most of the standard programs work. I won't be buying the NZ for reasons I've mentioned in other posts (most importantly, too little memory), but I was curious about the size factor. I agree that a white coat presents little problems, but I'm in scrubs allot and the extra weight pulling down with a clip on case seems like it would be too uncomfortable. The camera does have some cool apps for the medical field, but again, I use my Clie for hours on end without recharging. I'd be worried about the battery drain on the NZ. Yes, I could buy a backup battery, but that's one more thing you have to carry.
Anyway, keep me posted how the NZ is working out in your day to day activities as a physician.

"Just got mine today, and being using my NZ actively in my Rehab residency"
A bit out of topic, but Im curious if the Rehab residency is in the Us or Canada? How many years is it? Will you be able to own a rehab clinic and treat patients that have personal injuries? If so, how is that different from a chiropractor? Im in 4th year med school, and rehab med really interest me at this point. Its a flip between that and Family med.
Anyway, to keep in the mood of this conversation, Im buyin the NZ90 also. I hope it'll be as good as my dad's NX70V.

Rehab is the way to go, and it's a better lifestyle than Family and we make a heck of lot more money. Plus it's a specialty not primary care and good choice with the NZ-90
