Well, I had the idea of using a BT MS with a BT WAP (ie: Bluegate 2100) and almost had a heart attack when I saw the price.

Hence my question: Can one use the internet through a computer that is bluetooth enabled? If the answer is yes, then I'm sure its cheaper to get a BT adapter for a computer than buying the WAP.

Yes.

I use my BT MS with a PC using an IOGear USB BT dongle.

Works great for both hotsync and surfing/email/ICQ, etc...

I have also use D-Link dongles, and the built-in BT on some of the newer motherboards. All worked fine. The IOGear is a Class-1 (more powerful) device that cost me less than $50. The D-Link was about the same price, but is Class-3 (less powerful). The Clie BT MS is Class-3, so the power of the USB dongle doesn't make a big difference, but the more powerful Class-1 device does give a little more range.

The short version is you use ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) with the USB dongle and your Clie/BT MS. Most people find this works, but some can't seem to get it to work, and some additional steps/software are required.

Give it a try, and if you get stuck, post here and I'll see what I can do to help.

Excellent, I didn't really want to have to pay $400 for a BT WAP.

I think I'm going to make the plunge. I found a nice ceap BT dongle on ebay and the expansys price has gone down for the BT MS considering that they're now also being sold in the UK.
