Can view quicktime but not mqv

I must be very stupid - this is driving me nuts. I finally got a quicktime video to play on my new ux50, but not an mqv. I tried to rename it to mov___, but still movieplayer will not show it. Any help at this time would be much appreciated. My family would also appreciate it - just to get me to calm down. Thanks

If I understand you correctly you downloaded a QT file and are trying to run it without conversion on the UX50? If so it will not run until you use the Sony supplied Image converter to convert it to an MQV file. It is a very simple process, and works well except for some files with compressed sound. The only file type you can run without conversion to MQV is mpg1.
