Wi-Fi, Shmi-Fi. I don't need to stinkin Bluetooth. I just tried out internet on my TG50 via IR to cell phone, it actually was okay.

I already have a BT connection, so setting up an IR connection was easy (duplicate the BT, and change the duplicate to connect via IR). My cell phone internet is only 9600 kbps, so using IR is probably just as fast as BR. Of course this is with proxy surfing with Web Pro to cut down page sizes...

I guess it's also inconvenient to keep the IR sensors aligned, but for checking email and stuff it's not bad. I can give up BT for a WiFi PDA if I can still use IR for emergencies...

The IR alignment is the key. Try checking your mail while riding in a cramped bus with the Clie and cell on your leg. Bluetooth does come in handy in this situation. It's much easier to check your email with the phone in your pocket and the Clie in hand.

Yes,
IR surprised me with it's ease of use too, but BT doesn't have to be line of sight, and that's important in an apartment where the cell phone reception is only good at one window, and I want to surf in another area.
