Can you format and reinstall the PALM OS on the NX80?

You can hard reset which is basically the same thing.

Correct. A hard reset will return it to factory fresh.

Question: What if I use JackFlash ?

so it will be back to stock programs + programs moved to flash?

Yep,

when you hard reset, will erase everything from the RAM and let your ROM untouched like new.

But, the JackFlash ROM-moved files wont be visible until you run jackflash again.

If you don't want to use JackFlash anymore (for whatever reason) and just want to activate the programs in ROM, you can also use the FlashEnable program that comes with the JackFlash. FlashEnable will simply enable the programs in ROM; the program itself should reside on a Memory Stick so that you can run it to enable the ROM.

I run JackFlash from MS. This way when I do a hard reset, I don't lose Apps in Flash when doing a hard reset.

If you don't want the apps in Flash, use Jackflash option to release the Flash. This will wipe out all information in flash.
