Hi all,

My NX-60 gave me a Fatal Alert (Emul68kMain.c, line:403, illegal instructino 01FF at address 10FF4E00" when I selected "pref->shortcut".
The shortcut I had in there a long time ago still worked but I just couldn't add more by going to "pref->shortcut". As soon as I selected "shortcut", the screen when blank for a few seconds then I got the fatal alert above with a "RESET" box. When I clicked on the RESET box, it resets.

Pressing pageup + reset then select "pref->shortcut" still didn't work.

I would really any help or comment.
Thank you very much.

A hard reset might be the only fix, it's possible that the memory is corrupted. It could be a problem though if you don't have a uncorrupted backup. A soft or warm reset probably won't fix it. No way for me to tell if there is an offending app. I tried my shortcuts and they're fine. I have 100+ apps on my Clie and there is no conflicts.

I didnīt get a reset, but I just noticed that when I went into prefs > shortcuts, my NX started operating very slowly (when I selected a shortcut with the stylus, it took 3 seconds to change the marker).

Larry,
Thanks for the response. I fixed it:
after doing a hard reset, pref->shortcut was fine. But after restoring my backup from MS, same thing happened (fatal as soon as I selected pref->shortcut). I use SuperUtil and went thru every single file in RAM and found a file called "Graffiti Shortcut" (about 60K) that looked really suspicious so I deleted it and voila: I lost all my user shortcuts but it's working as it's supposed to now. I redefined my own shortcuts and went back to look at "Graffiti Shortcut" file (it was recreated when we select pref->shortcut) and it's only 6K so something must corrupted it before.
