ive heard from a friend that Audible's AudiblePlayer (http://www.audible.com/adbl/store/welcome.jsp) works on the Palm Tungsten...
since, the Tungsten uses the same OS, and the same CPU (albeit a speed difference) as the NX70V; it is then safe to assume that AudiblePlayer would work on the NX...
does anyone have any idea on this? has anyone tried using AudiblePlayer with the NX?

not sure where the thread is, but there is one about that on here somewhere...audible has said their content will not play on the devices...I'll see if I can find the thread, if anyone else knows where it is, post a link to it here...

According to Audible, there currently is no support or plans for the Sony Clie.

That sucks, I was interested in signing up with them.
If you really wanted to you could burn a CD then re-rip to mp3...you'd lose quality but it'd work.

Actually, there are books that go much longer than 7 hours, I have one right now that is 11+ hours.
Note that it can be done using Goldwave, but I would suggest subscribing for a year, and getting the Audible player for "free".

http://www.goldwave.com/index.html ;)
You can use goldwave to find the pauses in long books to automatically break it up into smaller files. This comes in handy because you can't bookmark the .mp3 file like you can with an audible ready player. Kind of time consuming but it's the easiest way to get audible content onto your NX for now.
Please participate in the email campaign if you haven't done so already.

Actually, it is better than that. Goldwave allows you to transfer the files from audible format to MP3 format. When you stop listening to an MP3 on the NX, you can mark your place. Goldwave will allow you to split up the MP3 book into segments that are a bit more convienent and will fit onto your device and in its memory. These book files are huge!

That's because Sony did not implement the Sound Manager API in OS5, but its proprietory one instead.
Does anyone know if the Tungsten support background audio like the Clie ?
