Is there a way to get the NZ90 to dial a # using a bluetooth connected phone? I have it connected to a T68i phone, and can surf the internet and send/receive SMS's. But the address book has no "dialer" feature in it. I couldn't find a program on the CD either that does this function.
Am I missing something?

does this allow NZ90 convertions to "phone"?
would you then be able to make calls via NZ90?
(mic present + audio, why not?)

There actually is a built-in dialer in the Address application. Go into a contact and hit the menu. The 5th option should say "Dial...", or if you prefer just do /I. It's pretty well hidden and I've read a lot of reviews of the NZ complaining that BT applications aren't well-supported because they couldn't find features like this.

Yes the address book has a dialer as Drachesn says it works well my t68i and my bluetooth earphone.

Could you detail how you got this working? I've had a support call open with Sony who have told me it can't be done!!!
Many thanks

Pretty simple, actually. Install the BT driver for your phone (in my case for the SE T616, the Sony generic GSM driver). In Prefs, go to Connections. Make a new connection. Call it "BT to <your phone>" or something. Connect to "Phone". Via "BlueTooth". Click "Tap to Discover" and create a partnership with your phone. Choose the model of your phone or "Generic GSM Phone". If you have an init string for your phone, tap "Details..." and do your thing. Then go to the Phone page and select the connection you just made and test it. If it doesn't work, you may need the proper init string. You're on your own there...

hmm, I can do SMS and email via the phone with bluetooth. Just not dial. I don't even get the menu option on the address book.
Are you doing this on an NZ90? I'd like to be able to call Sony back up and tell them that what they say can't be done is being done by users!
Many thanks

matthew, it sounds like you want to use the sony mic and speaker for the phone..., you cannot do this... you can cause the sony to dial the phone, and then use a bt headset to connect to the phone (no sony).... you can use a bt headset to connect to the phone without the sony... the trick is being able to turn on the headset right after using bt from the sony to dial the number...

Hi Greg,
No, all I want to do is to be able to click on a name in the address book and have it dial the number. I realise that the NZ90 can't do speaker/mic but surely it can dial the number so I can avoid having to dial it manually on the phone. I have a bluetooth headset so I'd like to click on a name have it dial, leave my phone in my pocket and take the call on the headset. geeky eh? ;-)
Cheers
Matthew
hi NZer,
I can dial a name from the address by tap on the name that i want to contact and then tap the scroll down menu on the bottom, then tap the dial menu...then the bluetooth will make my T68i on my pocket dial the number... after connected i cantalk via my handsfree... preety cool ! also works with sending & receive SMS ,but the problem is i didn't get the delivery report after sending a massage... anyone can help ?

some people discovered that the DIAL application is not installed on all CLIE versions. eg. european Clies don't have it.
There is a download location and a readme file how to install the dial application on the CLIE NZ90 on this devices. Basic copy PRC files to Memory Stick, move it to the RAM, Softreset and finish.
