I finally got around to trying out the different settings and see what I can come up with. A couple of things I found.
First off, this camera does great in lowlight only with the flash. Without the flash it is very poor, too grainy. What is intereseting in some aspects I think the NX70 might do better without a flash (only at 640x480 max), but cannot compare to the quality of the NZ90 with flash. (not 100% sure, since dont have nx70 anymore cant compare , but dont remeber my pics without flash being this grainy)
First off here is a pic of my parrot with the flash indoors around 7 pm at night:

Now here is a pic of a scene without flash, indoors, 7:30 pm, 1600x1200, using my olympus 2.1 mp camera:

Now here is that same exact scene with my NZ90 with no flash using 1600x1200 , fine quality:

Now here is the same exact same only difference is I used standard quality on the NZ90, od thing seems to be a bit better not 100% sure about that, my eyes can be deceiving me:

Now here is the same scene using NZ90 , fine quality 1600x1200 with flash this time:

Now for fun same exact scene, NZ90, no flash, 1600x1200, fine quality but this time I used twilight setting, looks very good in the sense of no graininess, but it also looks a bit odd like it lost color, but I think I can live with this:

Now I am not a huge camera expert, but looking at the data, I noticed all of he NZ90 pics was using ISO 344, while my olympus without flash was ISO 100, I think that might be the reaosn why so grainy with the NZ90 without flash. I wonder if there is a way to cahnge the ISO, but did not see that option.
All in all, I think the camera on the NZ90 really rocks for the portability, definitely much better then the NX70/NR70, especially great for outdoors, and indoors with flash.
