Hi, everybody.

I'm glad to be back here ;-)

I had TJ35, didn't get the backlight issue, but it was one the recall list, got fixed, but then I sold it and got Tungsten C.

Tungsten C was good and all, except 2mm dead digitizer issue. But you know, it was... say, unsexy. I had it for a month but it's gonna be on ebay in a week I guess...

Then a couple days ago, I dicided to come back and get Clie again. Now I'm with my TJ37. I really love it. I can't believe that sony packed up all wifi thing and camera inside of this thin body. Everything well packed. I love taking picture and send them right away with the wifi in starbucks.

And above of those features, I just feel clie is sexyer than palm. I don't know why.

Anyway, again, I love this new TJ and glad to be back on this forum!

P.S.
I have a question for those of you who use OSX panther.

Is it technically possible that using airport card to do wireless hotsync? I mean NOT with the base station, but only the airport card. You know you can turn on the internet sharing on mac, which is connected to wired LAN, so you can do web browsing nd emailing on TJ37 through that connection. (wired network -> mac -> airport card -> wifi on TJ37)
But I haven't got luck hotsyncing with this system. Do I have to get a wireless router in order to do wireless hotsyncing, or is there a way to do it by only airport card installed mac? I'm not bright at network things...

Any inputs are appreciated!

I'm not sure any computer can do WIFI hot-syncing with a palm, clie or otherwise. This is possible with Bluetooth over a mac or pc though. WIFI is not really for communicating between devices on that level it is more for lan and internet.

Is there someone that can prove me wrong? I'm willing to listen.

Jamie

thank you for the reply.

I'm not sure if it's possible using airport card the way I asked, but I am sure wifi wireless hotsync itself is possible. (with router, so it is basically LAN hotsyncing.)
I've read many posts using wifi sync on clie source and other forums.

Any ideas?

Since your home computer would be set up in ad hoc mode, it may not work. Only way to know is to try! Let us know if it works. I also am sure that the 37 can network sync with a base station in infrastructure mode.

Thanks for your input.

On my mac (OS10.3.2), Internet sharing option is checked, and I'm sharing wired ethernet connection with my TJ37 via airport card (IEEE802.11b/g, without router). So my powerbook is pretending as a router. For example, my hosemate's mac with airport card installed and my clie both can surf internet through my powerbook wirelessly.

The connection between mac and clie is infrastructure mode. But basically what I'm trying to do is hotsyncing with router itself(?) huum...

I'll try and search more on the internet. anyidea, thoughts will beappreciated!

I found out some information about the limitation of palm desktop for mac version. It doesn't support network hotsync which pc version of PD does. And palm stopped developing PD for mac.... Gosh...

Oh well, I still can use internet connection, and it's not clie's fault... I'll see my chance..

Actually, I don't use the data cable very much. I prefer to HotSync via Wi-Fi, as this seems to be a bit faster.

People also hotsync via Wifi with the UX50, which is why having the separate power and sync cable thing is not that big of a deal.

Obviously I was wrong. :)

I wonder if we could get the Mark Space guys to figure out a way to make it work with Macs?

I've read about discontinuing the development of Palm Desktop for mac. Then also I read that Mark Space will develop all basic syncing features including Wifi sync.

Please make it soon, Mark Space! I'm willing to pay upgrade fee! (but please make upgrade version for previous users :-)
