Hi, I have a NR70 and hotsync a lot of my digital pictures through picture gear lite, the software that came with the device. To save room I store most of them on my 128 stick. Here's my question. Everytime I want to view the pics on my sony stick, I have to transfer them over to the handheld to view through PG Pocket. Isn't there just a way to view them off the memory stick? I try using the menu at the top of PG Pocket where you can select from "Internal"and "MS" but it says there are no pictures to view, which is not true because I know there are several on there. It seems like there would be a way since it gives you the option. Any Suggestions? A big thanks to the Clie Community for any help!

Acid Image, it's not as cumbersome as PG Pocket and it's a whole lot more powerful. give it a shot....

When you are transfering them to teh 128 stick are you selecting the export, or using msgate/some similar tool to copy them to stick?

You should use the export function in PG pocket (a device with an arrow goign away and up i think). You can export to DCF (JPG smaller), or PGP, which is similar to the ones that are just copied to stick, but for some reason PG pocket is able to detect and see them.

Wow! Worked like a charm, I was using MS gate, but Exporting them made it work just like I always dreamed! Thanks for posting the reply, I will also check out Acid Image as well!

I've been enjoying CrsImgView for viewing jpegs off my memory stick. I crop & resize to 320 X 480 and then use MS Import.

What's nice is that I can reduce to about 35-40K and still have a nice looking picture on screen.

Unfortunately, the program does not have a thumbnail directory, but it's FREE and you can choose pics by filename. You can advance pictures forward or backward with the jog dial.

Here is a Tutorial (http://www.cliesource.com/tutorials.php?op=showcontent&id=18)on this site that will help you understand some of the different options and features available in PG Pocket, Photostand, and Clie Paint.  These all three work together for an outstanding Photo, Slideshow, and PhotoEditing suite.

I think the weakest part of each program is that

Photostand-takes up too much space
PG Pocket- too slow and limited to 480x640, only hi-res
Clie Paint- very limited in resolution of pictures

Another limitationl

Photostand requires you to go back to PG pocket to set up. I also would like to have a better choice of time delays in the slideshow. 10 seconds is too long sometimes.

Which ones can I delete with impunity and still use the camera and see the pictures? I never edit, and I never need to automated slideshow.

Thanks

If that's the case you might wnat to delete/put to ram Clie Paint and Photostand

if you use Acid Image/ Splash Photo/any 3rd party image viewer that can see PGP files. Delete Picturegear Pocket too, but this would make instant viewing of images more inconvenient, you can't press the arrow above the calculator button to see the images.

Remember to backup your ROM in several places (MS, CD, PC, etc.). If (1) you change your mind, (2) want to sell the CLIE with original ROM state, (3) one of backup files gets corrupted, (4) delete the backup files by mistake, then you have spare backup files. I thought I didn't need some of the ROM files, but later on I wanted them back, and was able to restore the ROM back.
