Did the NZ90 come with an ac adapter plug?

I didn't see it in the box but then I haven't looked thru ALL the cables they ship. My NX70 came with a little ac adapter plug so you could bypass the cradle.

No it did not come with one. According to Sony, that little plug won't work with the NZ. If you look at the accessories that are available for it, they all have a ** next to them, and that refers to a footnote that says to use this with the NZ you need the USB cradle. I have the sync and charger that come with the plug, and it fits just fine. I think it is a conspiracy for Sony to sell all of these dreadful NZ USB cradles.

The NZ90 doesn't come with one but the one I forgot to return with my NX-70 works fine.

Sony warns not to use the power cable with the adapter dongle thingy, that's why there's none in the box. My Local Fry's plugged a demo NZ into the powerplug using an adapter. It no longer turned on after two days. I don't think I'd tempt the fates with an $800 machine.

A shame, since the cradle is so *$(*#$ annoying.

Yet on the Sonystyle website, if you click on Accessories from the NZ90 page, it supposedly shows compatible accessories. Isn't the plug you're referring to the same as the one on the hotsync or AC adapter cable?

even spoke with sony support and they warned me not to plug the connector into the NZ90 or it can damage the unit.

I am not sure why or how but not going to take a chance. I tired once could not get a good fit and gave up glad i did.

Yes, it's shown with the AC adapter and sync cable on the accessories page here http://sonyelectronics.sonystyle.com/micros/clie/accessories/accessory-NZ.html , with the note: *to be connected to PEG-NZ90 with the USB Cradle only in the product listing. It's the same little black plastic thingy that past Clies used.

Oddly, if you go directly to sonystyle.com, instead of www.sony.com/clie and hunt for accessories, the adapter and sync cable don't have this caveat. Sony has too many sites and pages for the same thing, and they don't all seem to get updated at the same time :mad: Notice if you click on the SJ30 from the models menu on www.sony.com/clie, it shows an SJ30, but has "pre-order for $299" which obviously really refers to the about to be released SJ33!

yeah i agree sony does have some confusing web pages...and since nz90 is so new, there is no warning that comes with the adapter not to use.

they better get that info out real quick, before a lot of damaged nz90
