turning sound off

this may be a bit of a stupid question, but i just got my sj33 today. and i was wondering. Is there anyway that sound can be completely turned off and on? I need this so i can play games and suchs but not draw attention in public.

1. Go to the launcher
2. Hit the app "Prefs"
3. Go in to "General" from the top-right
4. Turn system, alarm and game sound off.

By the way, remember to turn alarm sound back on, or you will not hear the alarms that go off.
