Hate when this happens! Need help!

I bought an SJ-30 a few months ago...love it and it does everything I need it to do. I had the software for Syncing on my home computer, which my son is now "borrowing" in his room (thats another thread). I loaded the software on my work computer today (a more logical place since everything is work related), and when I tried to Hot Sync, I got the *gasp* Fatal Exception screen. Would not reset, had to unplug the battery, etc, then restore from MS. After resetting, I tried to sync again (I am hard headed) with same results. Could it be the USB in my computer has a short or something? Is there anything that needs to be done in the software computer? Any thoughts appreciated!

Are you using the software Palm Desktop for Clie? or the regular Palm Desktop? I get a fatal exception with the regular Palm Desktop 4.1. I just reset it in the back and all is well.

Hi, thanks for the reply! Yes the software is for Clie.

I am guessing that there is a problem with my office pc's usb port...the last time i tried to sync i noticed a small "pop" between the usb port and the cable...so i unplugged and didnt try again. might be a voltage problem with my eMachines.

Now I am only getting the "Fatal Exception" when I do a Search. I can type in a name, and when I press "OK" it begins the search then stops with the warning. Time for a soft reset when I am lucky.

I'm clueless and went to Best Buy to see if they had any SJ33's in stock yet...I have the extra warranty protection...

Any other hints?
