A lot of people want to know how long the battery lasts when taking pictures with the flash, so yesterday I went out and took a bunch of pictures. The results were.... 72 pictures with flash and 12 without, before it konked out on me. I lowered the backlight and only took pictures (no other funtions used) over the course of one day on campus.
Of course now I want to transfer my pics to my computer and for some reason I can't figure out how to. I have everything set up and installed, but i do not know exactly what to do in order to transfer the pics from my NZ to my PC
Any suggestions would be welcome :D

Firtst you need to install the Memory stick export utlity on the cd.

Then reboot.

Then with the NZ90 on the cradle, and hooked up to your pc, click on MS import, it will first automatically install the right drivers, then it will show connected and you should have another drive lets say G: Removable drive (I think), just click on it, that is your memory stick, you should see a folder if I remember DCIM, and under there you should see your picture now just copy & paste into your C drive

Hope I explained it well.

My favorite method is using the built in MS Import function.
This allows your desktop to see your Memory stick as an external drive.

Once you've done that, drag and drop your pics to the drive of your choice.

By the way, thats also how you copy Mp3's onto your Memory stick.

Have fun.

It should be added that the pics taken buy the camera and stored on the memorystick are native jpegs. There is no conversion needed to view them on your PC. Place them in the folder of your choice, double click on em and they will open . It should also be noted that you can reverse the process and load whatever jpegs you want and "clie viewer" will view them, it just takes forever. Most people use a secondary pic viewer to access photos faster. I prefer Acid Image (NB-they are currently fixing a bug that addresses thumbnails with the new camera format on the NZ)
Thanx for the real world test!!!

I ordered my NZ last Friday, still waiting for it to arrive!
My question:
I have a "6 in1" card reader, can I take the memory stick out of my NZ and put it into my card reader to load and unload images and music? This seems like it would be quicker than going through the hotsync process?

Or,as previously mentioned, use the "memstick import" feature which will mount your card in the NZ while it sits in the cradle like it is an additional drive on your computer. No Hotsync required....just install the "memstick export" drivers off the cd.

actually this way is probably a whole lot quicker now that the cradle for the nz90 is such a pain to put the cradle in..LOL

on the nx70 it was easy but I might go this route as suggested above

eric2002,
I have a Sandisk 6 in 1 reader (usb2) and it has worked fine with my NX. Since the process of moving data is the same as for the NZ (i.e., moving pics, movies, music) you should also be able to use it. Plus, with usb2 it is much faster to move a 122 mb movie to MS vs. MS import. Good luck with your new toy!

Doesn't work for me. Only the cradle does. Though BT hotsyncing works great.
