Anyone use their TH 55 unit in a case, i.e. with the hinge cover removed?

I'm really hoping E&B makes a slipper case for it. That's what I use for my Handera 330, it's the best solution for me. I haven't seen any 3rd party cases made specifically for the TH55, at least not yet.

xigma Japan is taking pre-orders for a flip case... I also used the EB cases and they are great.... hope they make something for the TH series..

At the ebcase wbsite: www.ebcases.com, there were no flipstyle cases for any of the older Clies, instead they had pouch-like cases. But, I agree that EB cases are excellent.

I am placing an order for a slip case from ripoffs.com (they are wholesale only, but that is the maker, I buy from another company that retails them). It is the only case that has survived the age of any PDA for me... I break belt attachments... :( at least I finally found a slip case that works for me and lives on my belt...

A slip case may well be the best option here, unless someone can make a flip case that allows easy access to the jog dial.

Good point about the jog dial. The EB for my Handera will be a temporary solution as the dimensions are pretty close, but a new slipcase would need to have cutouts for the jog dial & buttons. I did e-mail EB about a slipcase, they gave me a standard reply that if they make one I'll get an e-mail. Maybe if enough people e-mail them they'll move it up on their priority list :D

I was thinking about using a slip case, too.

Has anybody tried any of the cases from Sony with their TH55? How do they fit?

My TH55 fits precisely into my EB slipper case for my N760C (which I believe they're still clearing out on EB).

However; it'd have to be slashed to bits in order to access the front buttons, the power, the jog, the MS slot, and the camera.

So while the measurements are exactly right, I'm still trying to figure out how you could manufacture a slipper case that would *stay on* the device and still allow access to the multitude of buttons.

I hope someone makes this soon (EB, please!).

Could someone please tell me what the pouch cases are made of. I need a case that is cleanroom compatible so that leaves me with either metal or 100% nylon case. It will probably be a while for the metal cases, but I need something now, before my 55's in pieces all over the fab floor.

The EB slipper cases are leather.

Snug to where it won't fall out?

I detest a case on my PDAs while in use, but love having one to transport the PDA around. Started to look for a nice, thin leather slipcase to store my new 55 in, and saw your thread. Will check out the EB site, but wanted to ask how well it fits. If you hold it by the closed in, does the 55 start to slide out, or fit snug?

Edit: Sorry, forget the question! Looked at the EB site and this isn't what i'm after. I just want a case that doesn't flip open or accesses anything on the 55...just open at one end to slip in the 55 for carrying around, then pull out the 55 to use. Probably can find a generic to fit the bill, since most folks probably want a functional case.

Anybody know when the E&B TH55 cases will be out? I have emailed them a request, but never heard back.
