For some reason my CLIE MAIL fails to sync consistently when I do the hotsync. I can't seem to find any reason for it. It works a few times, then doesn't a few times. Undocking the CLIE and redocking it seems to make it work, but there still must be something I'm overlooking.
I checked the logfile and on those occasions where it didn't work, it says that Clie Mail is configured to DO NOTHING.
thoughts?

You may have already tried this, but...
Right-click on your syncmanager icon in the system tray, choose Custom..., then double-click on Mail, set your hotsync action desired, then be sure to check the "set as default" option, click OK, then done. Now try a hotsync, check the log, then check the mail setting again. It should fix this, and the hotsync setting should stay in place.
Other thought is to uninstall/reinstall the PalmDesktop.

That's the strange thing. The HOTSYNC setting is ALWAYS set for Synchronize, even when the log shows it configured to "DO NOTHING".
I didn't know PalmDesktop had anything to do with anything. I've never even opened it since the day I got my NX70v. I'll give it a try.
thanks,
Paul

Reinstalling PalmDesktop reinstalls the sync software as well. Plus, you can set sync options from within PalmDesktop. It's a squirrely thing...sometimes PD influences sync in odd ways. I've got a HandStory problem with my categories not syncing, and the problem seems to be connected to PalmDesktop, even though a) I don't use PD nor sync to it, and b) I don't sync to Outlook either. But the developer (and maybe others?) has connected PD's memo categories at a programming level to the handheld. Maybe it's something they have to do or it's easier or whatever...
