Has anyone managed to connect to Orange GPRS using a T68i?

I've followed the instructions in this and other forums for setting up GPRS, but am getting the "Incomplete Setup. Please check your network settings" error after the "Signing On" dialog.

My settings are:
Preference | Connection

Name: Orange GPRS
Connect to: Modem
Via: Bluetooth
Device: MyPhone
Dialing: TouchTone
Volume: Low

Details:
Speed: 57,600bps (have also tried the 115k setting)
Flow Ctl: Automatic
Init String: blank

Preference | Network

Service: Orange GPRS
User Name: (empty)
Password: -Prompt-
Connection: Orange GPRS
Phone: *99***1# (the CID no. for the GPRS account on the T68i is "1"

Details:
Connection type: PPP
Idle timeout: Never
Query DNS: not checked
Primary DNS: (from GSM provider)
Secondary DNS: (from GSM provider)

IP Address: Automatic

Connection settings on the T68i are:
APN: orangeinternet
User id: blank
Password: blank
Password Request: Off
Allow Calls: Automatic
IP Address: ...
DNS Address: 158.43.192.1

Advanced Settings:
Authentication: Normal
Data Compr.: Off
Header Compr.: Off

I have no problems using the GPRS service on the T68i to access WAP pages, and have also successfully retrieved email from the UX50 via the T68i using a GSM/Bluetooth connection. SMS also works fine.

Can anyone offer any advice?

TIA

You lack the string

here's what i have in France with sfr :

Details:
Speed: 57,600bps (have also tried the 115k setting)
Flow Ctl: Automatic
Init String: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","websfr"

I don't think it's exactly the same for you, but i think either on orange uk website on by calling their hotline you'll have your answer :)

Yes I found that string on another forum and tried it, but it didn't help! Thanks anyway.

OK I got to speak to someone from Orange tech support and the following resolved it:

- Put something (anything) in the user id and password fields for the connection (e.g. user: a, password: a)

- Set up a login script:
Send AT+CGDCONT=1,,"orangeinternet"
Send CR
Send ATD*99***1#
Send CR
Wait for: CONNECT
end

Now I have to work out how to stop all of the wireless operations trying to use the same connection - e.g. Hotsync, SMS, etc. How do I change "default" connection to be used by wireless functions?

For example, let's say I want to use my Wireless LAN for Hotsyncing, but BT/GPRS for email and web access. If I Hotsync using wireless LAN, then the next time I connect to retrieve email it tries to use the wireless LAN connection, instead of the BT/GPRS connection. Where can I define which connection is used by each wireless app?

TIA for any guidance

Nothing perfect for managing connections hasn't been found from what i know ; a few things you may try :
- versamail enable you to chosse the connection to use
- netselect may be something u'd like to try but i'm not sure it's ok with wifi
- keyquick can also help easily get to the network screen

I couldn't find that option in Versamail (2.6)

So what do other people do when they change location (e.g. from home to office, or from office to car)??
