In my opinion 'single stroke' Graffiti 1 is a lot easier, reliable and faster than Graffiti 2 (which I have used for a couple of months now).

Is it possible to switch back to Graffiti 1?

I am using a TJ25.

TIA,

Erik.

This is something I found awhile ago, I forgot where though. Palmgear.com perhaps. I have a pretty good memory but AM NOT 100% positive that this is exactly how someone figured out how to replace to original Graffiti.

Step 1:

Use a handheld that has the original Graffiti system installed on it, then use a handheld file manager, such as File Z, to locate the following files (you will have to check the ROM box because that 's where it's stored.)

Graffiti Library.prc, size: 30k, creator: frft
Graffiti Library_enUS.prc, size 22k, creator: grft

Step 2

Beam or copy the above 2 files to the target handheld you want to install the original Graffiti on.

Step 3

Perform a soft reset and you're all set to start writing with the original Graffiti again!

Even with the replacement Graffiti the write anywhere on screen feature of Palm OS 5.2 should still function as normal. Also the on screen Graffiti reference should revert back to the original as well.

To restore Graffiti 2

Just perform a hard reset.

I personally have not tried this yet but it makes sense to me.

Don't hold me responsible if this causes you to have to do a hard reset, so you better back up you files first!

You don't need another handheld for the files. Download the zip file in this thread (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34466&highlight=graffiti) and follow the instructions.
