I noticed when converting a 21 fps or higher .avi clip into Movie Player, that the frame rate drops to about 15 fps. It doesn't slow down the clip, but rather, drops a number of frames, apparently during the conversion. I notice there is no way to specify frame rate in the Image Converter utility.

Anyone know how to get higher frame rates in Sony Movie Player?

Technically, the frame rate shuold increase with unused bandwith available (For example if only a few pixels change on every new frame), however I guess Sony put a limit to the variable frame rate since the NX can only decode a certain number of frames per second

This is what frustrates me. Running a performance test on Kinoma, it plays a clip at 60 fps! Granted, the resolution is not the same as in Sony Movie Player, but you just know that the NX has plenty of juice to play a clip at around 30 fps with the picture quality of the Sony Movie Player in terms of resolution. Right now I have both. I use Kinoma when I feel like getting good high frame rates (30 fps) but at the cost of Cinepak compression (which ain't too bad), and Sony Movie Player when I feel like seeing near perfect picture and color resolution (but at a choppier 15fps). When will someone combine the best of both worlds?!
