It was like a bad dream...It fell out my jacket pocket and onto a concrete floor head first top left corner. It seems to work fine though. Anybody else have to deal with this situation?

Was it in any kind of case?

Hopefully it will "take a lickin' and keep on tickin'! :) Good luck!

Yeah, I did the exact same thing with my NX70 the very first week. Yuck, talk about getting a sinking feeling. Fortunately it only roughed up the edge around the camera button a little. That was 4 months ago and it's still working!

Happened to me with my NR70V. I wasn't as lucky though. It killed the screen. I cary my NX in a padded leather case, even if it just helps a little but I feel like it is worth it.

My T615 took some nasty falls though... :D

It works fine, but did you have a heart attack?

When I actually dropped it, my mind was in a trance focussed on the exam I was about to write. While I was writing the exam, however, this incident proved to be a big distraction. Actually, I feel fine now. I realize that it is just a hunk of metal with a bunch of IC's and wires etc....nothing that money cant replace! I just dont know how long it is going to continue working with side and top corner cracked open!

PS. I tried to post a picture of the damage but I cant seem to do it?

Dropped my T675 and my SJ30 both in the first weeks, (this also happens, my new Cellphone get the first scratches on the first day, since then never again. Stupid world)

You see it gliding out of your hand try to reach it, then stop falling down with your foot (all like slowmotion) and then it reach the floor BAAAAM!

Damn its really lie a bad dream :P

but both Clies worked fine after it ;)

Watch out for funky hotsync problems. I dropped a T615C, and everything seemed fine, until I hit the round button on the bottom of the cradle . . .

Yeah...I did the same thing with my T615C. Seemed to work great...until I tried to HotSync...and no battery charging, either. NO VISIBLE DAMAGE. Killed it, completely.

That's ok, now I've got an NR70V :-)

I did the same thing. Bottom right corner is jammed in. But it's been working absolutely fine for the 5 months since it happened.

One thing I will say for Sony, these are relatively durable. There is another thread today from some guy who dropped an NZ90 from the second floor (onto carpet) with no apparent damage.

Damn, those things are so heavy I bet it cracked the subfloor beneath the carpet. :D

I've dropped so many "Palms" over the years that I would never go without a case.

Case in point... When I first got my T665, they were out of cases at the store. Wouldn't you know it, I dropped out of my shirt pocket. It landed flat on it's back. No visible damage, immediately, but after a few minutes the LCD started to look like it was running in the lower right corner.

I learned three valuable lessons...

1. Put it in a case (every bit of leather or metal helps to cushion a blow some). I've dropped my PDAs a lot, and every time it was in some sort of case, it was saved.

2. Never put it in your shirt pocket! It'll never stay in when you lean over. I never did it with my Palm 1000 through Clie N610C, but the T665 finally felt thin enough to fit in there. But, not for long...

3. Extended Warranties, for me, are invaluable. I've used CompUSA's TAP on two Clies (N610C and T665) so far. Both were for screen breakage of some sort, as well. I know they are not for everyone, but since I've had to use it, it must be good for me.

This happened to me the next day i got my T665. Only external damage, everything works just fine. And two weeks latter, my 4 year-old kid dropped it again, and the same result: only external damage. I hope there won't be a third time.

Havent dropped mine yet (crossing fingers and knocking on wood) but I am psycho about cases. Any case, even a cheap one, is better than a naked clie. Would you want to fall down while your naked......might break something ehhh? Dont leave your clie naked man, it aint worth it!

I use a cheapy belkin leather slipper - works great.
