I know this issue has been bothering a few people (Sigamy and myself at least) so I broke out Babel fish and emailed Romain at "Clie and Co" as he's had a chance to play with the unit. (If you haven't read their (and PDAFrance's) "War and Peace" length epic on the unit then head over to www.clieandco.com now).

This is his response - I've copied it from Outlook so think of this as my email with his comments hi-lighted:

Romain,

Thank you for the very quick response and your English is far better than my French. Your answer has been very helpful but there is one last detail I am trying to understand:

Can I combine the two sources of information (Outlook and CLIE organizer for PC). For example:

1. I enter a meeting into Outlook as usual.
2. I synchronize with the CLIE via Intellisynch
3. The meeting appears in the bottom layer of the new PIM application on the CLIE
4. I write a comment over the top of it (or place a picture on it)
5. I synchronize again
6. In the CLIE Organizer for PC both the meeting and the hand written note appear?

Romain: YES, it’s correct.

Or:

1. I add a meeting into the bottom layer of the new PIM on the CLIE (as you would using Agendus, Datebk5 or Datebook)
2. I write a note over it in the new PIM application
3. I synchronize
4. The text only meeting appears in outlook
5. The text and drawing appears in CLIE Organizer for PC

Romain: YES, it’s also correct

Excellent news! I'll be in the queue for one mid-March for sure.

regards,

Kieron.

This is great news! It may be buggy being a 1.0 release, but at least the basic functionality is there.

Can't wait to get my pre-ordered unit!

Now here's my question - does anyone know if I can sync via 802.11b to my computer?

Be kinda nice to have a quick sync and backup when I'm in a hotspot!

Yes - take a look in the Wireless forum. If you search there is a lot of info about wifi hotsyncs and how to set it up.
